In addition to having to deal with being pregnant, making plans for the future and living your life, you need to shop for pregnancy clothes.  For your first few months you can get away with wearing clothes from your current closet but when your clothes just will not stretch anymore and zippers won’t zip up, it is time to get yourself some pregnancy clothes.

Be proud of your baby when you shop for pregnancy clothes.  Flaunting the belly is in so do not feel like you have to hide in big frumpy clothes.

Evaluate Your Closet

There are probably a lot of clothes in your closet that will fit you through a good portion of your pregnancy.  Clothes like jeans or other tight fitting garments must be avoided once they get snug.  You never want to try to squeeze your belly into clothes that are too tight.  Baby-doll and empire tops that are in your closet make great pregnancy clothes.

Black Leggings

You will not find a more versatile piece when shopping for pregnancy clothes.  These are the best friend to those women that are shopping for pregnancy clothes on a budget.  You can dress then up or just lounge in them with your favorite tee.  The best thing about black leggings is they don’t look like pregnancy clothes and if you are pregnant in the warmer months, the come in capri length as well.

Borrow Clothes

When you are in need of pregnancy clothes, consider borrowing a few items from other people that you know.  Even if you only need a few items such as dress shirts or a skirt to get your through a few special dinners out, the less pregnancy clothes that you have to buy, the better.

Bargain Hunt

Do not underestimate the value of garage sales and thrift stores when shopping for pregnancy clothes.  Remember that you only need them for a few months and chances are, the items that you have found have only been worn a few times anyway.  You do not have to spend a ton of money on pregnancy clothes.  A few pieces will get you pretty far.
