Among all of the information, directions and steps Lisa Olson offers in Pregnancy Miracle, what jumps out very quickly are her Eight Commandments, listed right at the beginning of her plan.  They stand out not simply because they are titled so strongly, but because they offer such simple advice that in spite of making perfect sense, many women attempting to have a baby fail to follow.

Pregnacy Miracle Book

When Reading the list of eight simple rules, it becomes clear that unless you are able to follow these steps, you will not have success following the wider aspects of the system.  Understanding that you are trying to change your body and make it a place where conception happens easily and naturally suddenly makes these commandments set out for the program seem all the more important.

How many women who are trying to conceive a baby are not getting enough sleep?  The fact is, in our modern world with all of our responsibilities, many of us don’t get enough sleep.  We deny our bodies this most basic need, and then are surprised with they refuse to conceive a child.

We eat a terrible diet filled with unhealthy foods, and most of us don’t exercise as much as we should if at all.  Again, we fail to care for our bodies.  Smoking, alcohol and caffeine are all drugs that many of us put into our bodies, and again we are confused as to why they don’t function correctly.

If Olson’s last three commandments seem strange, it is only because we are so far removed from what keeps our bodies healthy and balanced that we have no idea what the cold might do to us.

With all of the information presented later in the book, the in-depth keys to health, the detailed nutrition plan, it may seem like these eight initial rules are too simplified and basic.  However, it is from the basic that we can build the complex.  Your body needs a good foundation to make the larger changes that lie ahead in Olson’s program.

A healthy body has a better chance of conceiving and carrying a healthy baby.  Starting with the basics makes a good deal of sense, and Olson’s commandments are a great place to begin.
